Message: Dont do it. you wont have any power off the line, and youll need to strengthen everything in the motor. plus get a new computer. it would be cheaper to just swap in a v8. all the hp and torque gains will be in the upper rpms. if you want to go that way with getting power just get a supercharger. youll get more power over the whole powerband
I haven't heard too much about the twin turbo but I'm pretty confident that it will satisfy your hunger for more power. Personally, I ain't never going to swap mine for a V8. I put way too much work into my truck to let it go, plus with the right mods, the V6 ain't as bad as what everybody claims. Is that $600 that he quoted only for labor? Where and how much is the twin-turbo kit? I think a Vortech supercharger would be a better bet, its all bolt on and requires no other modifications to the engine (except ofcourse for the exhaust, headers, and TB). I may get it if I win in Vegas or something.
Message: Yes its $600 for labor and parts. With the supercharger being about $3500 and then i would have to find someone to do it for me really would'nt be good for me.And he was talking about doing the turbo on the exhaust not the intake.I don't know alot about turbos so i hope i got that right.Im trying to deside if i wanna keep my truck thats why im asking about the turbo because its not that much money. It'll be paid off here in a couple months and im not sure what i want to do.Thanks for the help guys
Message: 600 for parts and laber seems REALLY cheap.
I didnt even think you could buy a DIY turbo set-up for that much.
I would defintly do it for 600 if its all good.
