could it be the coil or fuel filter?? Why all of a sudden? i got 98 almost 99K miles on the truck (1993). Im going to get a new coil anyways, because my truck sucks at starting up.

Clean everything around the TB. Actually take it off and clean it and the IAC on the back of the TB. Then do AP3923 or AP3924 autolite spark plugs (they are a rave in here), wires, cap and rotor. I didnt change my coil when I bought it, but I did change everything else I stated, but champions not autolite, but will soon be putting the autolite's in gapped .005 over. Fuel filter costs under $10 and takes under 10 minutes. For ease of installation, do it when warm outside and after truck has been sitting up a while. Also for insurance, take the fuel cap off. Do this and see if it helps.

If your coil is weak, opening the gap will
defenitly make it run like crap.

Get rid of the bosch,
Stock, A or AP3924
if you have a cold air intake and bigger TB or
more mods
A or AP3923

If you get the A's gap factory if the AP .005
more and your truck will run good.

All trucks do noy react good to the colder 3923
mine ran like crap untill I did more mods than
I tried them again and they ran real nice

If your going to replace the coil go with the
MSD SS Blaster or the direct replacement for
dodge trucks. If you go with the SS be sure you
also get the 2 prong adapter plug to make the
instalation easy, I never cut factory wireing
I either get a plug or make one.

I Just Hate Butcher Shops that cut up factory
wireing. It just pisses me off, a 10 year old
would do that not a profesional mechanic

I cut factory wiring all the time, just not important wiring (just stereo install). So what would make someone qualify for the AP3923s. I have 180thermo, V8 TB, 14" edelbrock, and exhaust.

New coil did sh!t....no one here sells the AP Autolites...so I think either Ill get chams or just autos...which is better?

I tried changing the timing with the distributor but its at its best right now. Brother said problem may be because of my O2 sensor on my cat or something...and i have been having issues with the cat...so im not sure.

SHE WORKS!
I took out each plug again and cleaned them. There seemed to be some dirt on the seal part of the plug (end of the threads)...so i think it was messing up the fule/air mixture or something.

How do I remove the spark plugs from my '93 3.9 L V6? The
wires seem to be glued on; I don't want to pull too hard for fear
of breaking something. Thanks...

i had the same problem with my plugs on my 99, so i jus pulled a lil harder closer to the metal boot thing and eventually with some gentle tugging it came right off.

grab the end of the wire that covers the plug and give it a good twist to the left and right then pull. it worked for me. then i discovered my ratchet extentions weren't long enough to get to the plugs. they are a pain to get to in a 2001 3.9, and are angled strange. 2 point towards each other and 1 is further up the block, other side is opposite.
