sometimes my truck lurches into overdrive. was wondering if this is a problem i should get checked.

check your speed output sensor, $27 fix from autozone, your existing one is located on the driver side of the tailshaft on your tranny. if not that then it's probably your governor pressure sensor, that's a pain in the arse to change, the whole valve body comes out. but do the speed sensor first, it's cheaper

I dont understand "lurches into overdrive" Maybe it shifts very slowly or hesitates before actually shifting???

When is the last time you changed the filter and
fluid,
How many miles on the truck.
There is also a O/D solenoid in the tran's but that is
not an easy fix. You need to remove the valve body
to replace it and is sometimes a prob on your year
tran's
Change the speed sensor, fluid and filter and go
from there.
