I just bought a '03 dakota with a 3.9l V6 and I love the truck! It's much better than my last Ford. It's the first Dodge that I've owned but now I regret not getting the V8 for it. I hate the fact that it has to downshift everytime it gets halfway up a hill when I have the cruise control on.
How can I get a little more power from this V6?

Depending on where you purchased the vehicle you may have a 3 day return available. Take the vehicle back to the dealer and ask to upgrade to the V-8.
Just my 2 cents.

I got it about 1 month ago and now it has 1600km on it. I really like it but would like to get more power from it. any suggestions?

V8 throttle body, Flowmaster or Dynomax muffler, K&N FIPK or at the least a drop in K&N filter-charger.
That will help out, and wont break the bank.
