Message: I was just curious how everybodys ablt to have the K&N intake on their truck. I called K&N and they said they haven't made one for the 3.9 yet. Do you have to adapt a V-8 throttle body? Also, What does changing your TPS do for you & how do you do it? And lastly what other relatively easy ways to bolt on or tweak up some more ponies? I thought about throttle body spacers but speedtweaks.com said they are wothless.

Message: my intake (mopar performance) bolted on just like the V8s but the filter rubs up against the air conditioning line. that's about it.

Message: Intense: You can slightly bend the A/C line out of the way for that problem.
3.9Kota: I modify the kits to be a direct bolt-on for the V6 (Powerdyne, Paxton, or Vortech). The 3.9L is the same thing as the 5.2L minus two cylinders and it sits about 3" farther back. Changing the TPS signal to .7v helps get rid of some of the off-idle stumble.

Message: oh, it's no problem..that's the only thing that doesn't fit like a glove...I am probably about to lose the ac anyway...never did like them...used it once last summer (texas heat)...I have two side windows, a back window, and a sunroof that moves up and back. plenty good for me.
thanks bernd,

Message: What's up guys.
I installed the K&N FIPK on my truck - 3.9 V-6,
use part #57-1517. It's made for the V-8, but
as Bernd said, they are the same minus two
cylinders.
The only mod I had to do on this was to mount
the sadddle bracket on the backside of the
tube rather than towards the front side. I had to
slightly bend it a little to get it in the right spot,
but it's really not that hard.
Hope that helps.
