Message: I just put the V8 TB on my 92 3.9 auto. The cat was already removed when I bought it. I put a turbo tube running into a single in dual out Dynomax w/3" tips. I also have the edelbrock chrome open filter. Would it help to put 2 1/2" tips out back. They are pretty rusted. I heard a lot of talk about the V6 losing too much backpressure w/duals, would smaller tips help out? I plan to do the TPS mod when I get my hands on a digital voltmeter. I just want my Dakota to pull smooth throughout the band and get the best mileage I can. I have the 180 thermo in there(which was a big ordeal to get in, broken bolt), and thinking bout getting ap3923s. I know im asking the usual just seeing if anyone has similar experiences. I didnt see a big gain with the V8TB. I ran it a little while then came back took the neg terminal off, then "cranked" the truck for 20sec. After doing so, the truck acted no differently?? I thought it would run rough during the relearn? Thanks.

Message: I have the dual out and want an inexpensive way to increase the back pressure. It seems below 2 grand that the engine doesnt run smoothly, but does above 2k.. Maybe its just the engine, but seems it could be the lack of backpressure. Just a thought, anyone have any ideas?????

Message: Without the cat and with the duel system you will
lose low end, how big are the tail pipes.
Changing the tips will not do much either put a
high flow cat in or have a shop bend you some
smaller tails.

Message: After I put the DYno on the truck it was way too loud and instead of buying a cat I just had them put one of the turbo tubes in its place.
But the tube is not actually in the same place as the cat would be, it is about a foot in front of the dynomax. I dont know if that would make a difference, but it kinda seems like it might.
I think I have 2 1/2 pipes coming out of the muffler (could be 2" though). My plan was to get them to move the turbo tube closer to the manifold and put 2 1/2 tips (instead of the 3"s).
I felt like that setup would work perfectly with the new V8 TB. When I put it on my idle wasnt perfect and when I went to adjust it, uh oh, there was no place to do it.
I was just about to post it, but somehow my dad said "just drill and tap it out, just tap it out!!" lol Saying that Dodge put it there to increase service revenue. I was baffled, I saw the screw where it actually touched the TB cable, but no place to adjust.
Im about to go off to college, so I am getting everything done this summer. I have Amsoil tranny and rear-end fluid on its way and will probably do the ap3923 shortly. After that I will probably be done for a while.
I have an edelbrock chrome open element, V8 TB, 180 thermostat, turbo tube running into a single in dual out Dynomax that came of a 318 Ram.
