Message: A coolant temp sensor or stuck open injector could do it. Does your truck have a cold start injector?? Those stick open occasionally. Any codes or CEL??

Message: Running that rich sounds like EITHER
1 or more bad injectors getting stuck wide open & flooding a cylinder.
OR Sounds like it is your Idle Air Controller working properly? It's the piece on the back of the TB, with cover off & Engine running, manually "Goose it" & you should notice a change in Air flow. If you cannot hear it, stick your finger right over the little triangle opening while accelerating and release, Checking for a difference in Air flow. Try taking off the TB & cleaning the front of the IAC, WARNING: DO NOT PUSH IN THE PLUNGER! You will see it when your TB is Off & Upside Down. The IAC cost around $25 at Autozone & you'll need a new TB Gasket, It's paper & falls apart as soon as you touch it.
Check your plugs or just give it a good tune-up. Plugs (Autolite 3924's are stock replacement, DO NOT spend the $$$ PLATINUM PLUGS!), Cap, rotor button & Wires
OR....again... What kind of Condition is your Intake Gasket in? Intake Gasket Set is about $39 @ O'Reilly's. This is a god maintenance thing to perform about 75,000. the Kit comes with the Bellypan gasket (Fails frequently sucking oil into your intake) and both intake gaskets. Down time for a rookie about 6hrs for a total cleaning & replacement.
Fuel injectors are expensive! If it comes down to Injectors I recommend Bruce @ fiveomotorsports.com, he did me right.
Good Luck!
Shank
If it don't work hit it with a hammer, Still don't werk? GET A BIGGER HAMMER!
