Message: Truck started to shut down while driving. It would stall out, I would wait a few minutes then it would start again. Took it to mechanic, he changed the fuel filter. It was pretty dirty. Ran good for a couple of days and then it stalled at the end of my drive way and it wouldn't start. Waited till next day and it started right up. Mechanic has code numbers but no book to tell him what they are could someone tell me, please? My dodge dak is a 1988 200,000 + miles on it, motor rebuilt 3 times. The #'s are: 12, 47, 45, 13, 33, 55, and 11. Thanks for any help.

12 Memory Standby power lost
47 Battery voltage too low
13 MAP sensor pneumatic circuit
33 A/C cutout relay circuit
11 1986-88 models, Engine not cranked since battery was disconnected.
& 55 just means end of codes
you should start by getting your battery "Load" tested
my first guess is its shot

Message: could be the infamous #115 splice. look in the wiring harness coming out the bottom of the Power distribution box on the drivers side inner fender. about 6-8" down below the box. unwrap the insulation and tape and look for 3 wires spliced to one. red w/ white stipe i think. if it looks corroded clean & solder the splice back together. common problem on older Daks.

Message: My 95 is doing the same thing. I can hood it to the floor and it will eventually clear out and run fine. one of these times its not going to clear out and I'm gonna be hosed! I put a new IAC motor on it,but, still the same old problem.

Message: My 2000 Dakota 5spd w 3.9l w 90k on it has been doing this for some time its very intermitent. It will do this it seems if its very cold, rainy or sometimes on nice days.It will crank an crank an only start if I hold the accelerator down if I let off it will die.I notice a bluish smoke it will clear out an 1 it warms up it will start fine all day.Ive had dodge in South carolina do a carbon clean an replace the plugs a month ago.I dont know if this is an iac,Cat or fuel pump/ filter problem as I have not ever touched the filter in the tank.Mechanic at work told me to try the IAC.I have already replaced the O2 sensors.Does any 1 know what I have to do to fix this.Im ready to roll it down a boat ramp:P.Friend tells me to get rid of it but I really do love my Dak,it corners an drifts great.Thank you for your replies Dave R

Message: Daddio, the 86-91 didn't have the #115 splice, the computer is mounted on the Passenger side under the hood. I would go with Curly, have the battery load tested, my batt. was low and it acted weird, after I charged the batt. it was back to normal.
Good Luck

Message: Dave Ritschel - it would be better to start a new thread, detailing your problem. You say yours has been doing "this" for sometime - but we've already had 3 different problems described in this old thread; so it's a bit muddy as to what you are referring to...
I note the last response is for one of the months old problems. I'd hope their issue has been resolved.
