 Subject: Tranny Question

Ive got a '90 4x4 with a 5 speed. I friend wants the tranny for his '87 4x4 D-50...will it fit?? I havent donew much research on the trannys and I dont know what the D-50 has. I know its a 5-speed but I dont know if Dodge used the same tranny or not. Thanks in advance

I am almost certain that these transmissions are different.However not all hope is lost,a good salvage yard should be able to tell you what will interchange.If your friend's truck is a four cylinder,I think the Challanger/Sapparo twins or even the Conquest transmissions may be interchangeable, I am not familiar with the connection to the transfer case but they may offer a low cost solution.

Thanks Mark....I might try to do a little more research on the subject...Maybe we could do a complete swap with the engine and tranny...I will have to do a little looking
