Message: I have read a magazine where Dick Landy was testing the r/t package. In it he said a k&n filter in the stock housing with the 4 inch dryer hose is better than an open or remote intake. The remote intake is only good if you seal it from the engine bay air. He said that his testing showed the engine bay was too hot for that type of set-up.
As for the Jacobs ignition system, They do guarantee that you will run noticeably faster or your money back. Some ads I have seen say that if you call them with your combination they will tell what increase to expect in hp/tq and mpg. You have to remember that any ignition up grade is better than your stock one. Thier pro street kit is supose to adjust the ingition timing like the chip will.
To wake up your engine you can do pretty much the same mods as the magnums like:
high ratio roller rockers
cam
I think they make larger TB or a larger used one?
cat back-(dynomax or magnaflow)they are better than a glasspack
The really good thing is that usually la block parts are alot cheaper!

Message: i have a 88' dakota v6 4/4 tbi and the only thing i have ever found for performance is a k&n filter. i also went to a dodge dealer and asked about a 318 swap and they said you will have to do a lot of fabrication to the front end to make it fit right.
