Hey guys,

I am new to this board, and this question has probably been asked before, but here goes again.

I am trying to decide between Flowmaster and Dynomax muffler for my '00 Dakota 3.9l. Which has a lower tone? Less aggressive. I don't want anything thats going to wake the neighbors, or drone so bad that I get a headache everytime I drive.

Anybody have any sound bytes of their exhausts or know where i can hear?

Thanks!

Dave, I had a Dynomax #17748 Super Turbo on my V6. It sounded very good at idle, at about 2000rpm it got a little ricy, but that's just the nature of the beast for a V6. Not loud in the cab, I liked mine. From what you described, it sounds like it'd work well for you. In my experience, I'd much prefer the Dynomax over the Flowmaster, especially anything louder than a 70 series.

Maybe you can add a brola to your choices. To me, it has a nice rumble at idle and low rpms plus the sound is non-existant at WOT. Costs more than the other two but was worth it.

In my opinion the both of them are very good either a flowmster 50 or a Dynomax #17748.
I bought the dynomax and I love it.

DYNOMAX!!!! i have the 17725 dual in dual out, and it sounds great, big gains, especially over 3000 RPM, now i can pull on my mom's HP intrepid with my premagnum v6, the dynomax makes it have a nice, almost V8 rumble at idle up to about 1500 rpm as well
