Subject: How to Remove Throttle Body?
IP: Logged

Message:
Hey

Yesterday I had something bad happen. The bolt that holds the bracket (that has the air cleaner stud on it) to throttle body broke off, IN THE THROTTLE BODY! So now I cannot keep my stud in place b/c theres no way of supporting it down! So I need to remove this throttle body and get a new one. I was planning on getting a V8 throttle body anyways, so now this is just a reason too! The local junkyard wants $35 for a v8 dakota TB. But how do I remove my current throttle body (93 dakota)? Which bolts do I have to take out. I want to make sure I dont screw this up since I already messed up this last TB.

Thanks!

Matt

There are 3 electrical plugs, the cables and
4 bolts right on the top of the body.

Be sure you get the right body for your year

92 to 95 you need a V8 body from 92 to 95

96 and newer you need a 96 or newer body.

And you may need to change out the cable depending
on what year your truck is.
