Message: What is better a ram air hood or a steel cowl
induction hood? or is there a difference much
besides looks?

Message: They're both "Cold Air" systems...make sure you get an airbox for the RamAir hood though.
My Cowl hood reduced the underhood temp by 15 degrees (wanted it for looks) but blows the rubber seal off of the cowl at 100mph+. (Yes...I found out the hard way.) ;)

Message: This may seem like a stupid question but how did you know the seal was gone? Did you just notice when you stopped or was there a noticeable change? I'm not real intelligent when it comes to this stuff, I'm always trying to learn.

Message: Rubber seal? I've had my truck over 100 a few times and no problems with my cowl hood. Actually, I never noticed any rubber seal but I'm checking in the morning.
