im looking at a short shift for my 98 dak i just got after trashing my neon, and was wondering what exactly type of transmission is in the dak. i have a 98 5spd v6 3.9L. because the shifter is for daks with the ax-15 transmission and i hope that i have the same tranny. i've looked on the net and i can't find a exact answer to my question so help a fellow dak driver out?!?!

You probably have a NV 3500 5 speed trans
Just take your vin number to any dealer and they
can look up the exact trans you have in your truck

I had a 98' with a 5-speed, it was the AX-15. The NV3500 was introduced later so the same tranny could be placed behind the V-6 and the V-8.
