Message: The Intake Air Temp (iat) sensor can benefit from being in the intake prior to the throttle body by improving the it's reading of the correct air temp. In the intake manifold, the iat will pick up warmer air (the intake manifold transfers engine heat). With the cooler reading, and correct reading, the computer will advance timing a small amount and add a small amount of fuel. Cooler air means it can have more timing and fuel. I hope this helps.
