Message: hey guys
i have a 97 3.9, w/stage 2 jet chip, short ram intake, and kind of a wierd exhaust.
any way , i own a shop in my local town so i have access to all the goodies, but the reason i am posting is, .. before i opened my shop i went to my local exhaust expert for a dual system, but he said duals are too much for a v6, so i said fine, i just want sound and performance, he reccomendeed a 3" system and here is is where the screwin' beagan, he ran dual 2 1/4s into a thrush muffler and out a single 3" it cost me $900.00 canadian, and it sounds wierd but kind of cool at the same time, just because it is loud i guess.
but it seems to perform alright, i am doggy out of the hole but i don't know if that is because of the exhaust or because it is a v6 truck.
has anyone done anything with the throddle body spacers?
or shift kits in an auto?
please help I like having the underdog, but am seriously considdering an R/T

Message: the IAT is the Intake Air Temperature sensor. It, along with the cam position sensor, throttle position sensor, coolant temp sensor, map sensor and few more help the computer determine how much timing and fuel to give or not give the motor. In its stock location, the sensor is above the number 2 cylinder on the intake manifold and measures the temperatures there. The temperature inside the intake manifold can get up to 170+ degrees and that will tell the computer to lay off on the fuel and retard the timing. By moving it somewhere where it can get cold air (i.e. intake tube from airbox), you will make it read colder (not cold) air temps and cause the computer to advance the timing and change the fuel rate... which will ad more power.
