Subject: Removing Stock Air Cleaner IP: Logged
Message: Hey
I just bought a new Edelbrock chrome air cleaner for my 93 dakota. Do I just unplug the hosing and the cord in the front of the air cleaner and put the new one in (with the 1/2" spacer). Also, since this one is now an open-element one, do i just take out all the hosing for the stock air cleaner that plugged into it since there is no place to connect that? Thanks and sorry im really confused with this whole thing

Message: I have a 92 and put the exact one in. I thinkit is 13inch. You have your spacer, I used 2 which total 2 inches to lift it up so it can be put on. You must drill a hole in it for the pcv valve hose to go in, but the indention is already there for it. As far as the stock plumbing, I left the black rectangular intake duct in place and positioned it so I still get some cold air. Just be careful not to let water in it, like if you wash your engine bay. And keep the chrome shining, it really sets it off. Oh yeah, one more thing, I had to buy an extension because the original stud wasnt tall enough to screw it down. All in all, I think the accessories were about five bucks and I paid about 25 for the edelbrock itself from auto zone.

Message: Yeah, WOT screams. When the engine is cold there is about 10psi of boost being crammed into the TB. Mileage hasnt changed noticably and its been so long i cant remember power increase. But when I get it back on the road I'll probably go back to stock for a few days just for observation, since it takes less than 30 min to change it back.
