Message: i got in my 3.9 dakota this morning and started it up. it would rev up, then stall. it did that a few times until i just held the gas pedal down and drove about a mile without letting my foot off the gas. after that, the truck would run but it was really rough. almost like a backfire but not as bad. any help would be appreciated. thanks

Message: My engine is a 3.9 V6. The engine stalls only when the A/C is on. It will idle but when you give it gas and let off the engine dies. Any ideas on the cause of this problem?

Message: Is there a chance this truck is carbureted.?? It seems many older carbs do this. I have no idea or any help, but go into further detail, good details and there are many guys on here that know a lot. Good luck

The rough Idle continues and the knocking. the truck is under warranty but this is a huge waste of time going to the dealer all the time. Message: Hey milky...3.9L v-6 has had a rough idle for a few years, thats not going to improve unless yours is worse than normal because of a misfire or something. Engine misfires WILL illuminate your check engine light.
Tell us more about the "knock". Often lifters are a mis-diagnosis of common spark knock conditions which can not always be corrected by mechanical repairs.
