Message: you say it doesn't run hot huh? that's weird. where is it leaking from? it sounds like it could just be the overflow which is normal. find out where the leak is coming from that's step one.

Message: It's leaking from the center off the truck. Kinda ball looking thing on the bottom, right behind the fan. Yeh I don't know too much about trucks. If I don't fill it up it will start to run alittle hot but I put more water in and it runs normal. It's like a big puddle that leaks though. Thanks.

Message: are you sure that's were the it is leaking, or is that where it is dripping. Look around all the hoses that are connected to the radiator and see if you can find where it is starting to leak at.

Message: Yeah I agree with Jeremy. If you fill the radiator and overflow all the way up you will leak or pour out. Of course you cant notice it while driving and the coolant is in motion, but when you park all that expansion has to go somewhere with the high pressure its got. Check the fill lines. There should be a full hot and a full cold. Good luck.

Message: not sure if it is solved yet, but you may also be looking at the water pump.
The peice that is supposidly leaking, is there any belts or wires attached to it.

Message: I had the same problem. it was hard to tell so i changed the water pump but still leaked..turned out to be a bypass hose that connects to the top of the water pump and goes under the mounting bracket for the compressor and alternator its farely short. It cost $2.99 at autozone.

Message: hey wharff I had the same problem if the ball looking thing is your crank pulley it could be coming from the weep hole on the water pump.It took me a week to find it my truck did not overheat when it went it just blew coolant all over the place depending how inclined your are to fix it yourself give yourself a weekend to do change the parts, and while you have all the brackets out change all three hoses, and your thermostat while your there good luck!

Message: I have a 97 v6, with almost the same miles, and mine did the EXACT same thing as this. It wouldnt run hot, and it didnt leak until the engine shut off. It was the water pump. The pump goes out between 60k and 80k miles so Im told, so look at that first, should be around $100 or so to get fixed.

Message: Well I've been away for a month. It's still doing the same thing. I got under it yeasterday and checked all the hoses and it's not them. Now it is starting to leak as I drive it and it is starting to get hot. Anyone know a good place in San Diego to take my truck to, I have to move back to San Francisco this weekend and don't think my truck will make it if I don't get it fixed. Just lost my job so money's tight and don't want to get screwed. Thanks

Message: Call me-- 619-274-1292
I have a friend (mechanic) that's in Lemon Grove-- and can take care of that for you-- most likely today-- He's reasonable-- But if it's the water pump-- you have that, plus anti-freeze, a by-pass hose and about 2 hours of labor.
Give me a call.
