My husband would kill me if he knew I was posting this...He changed his plugs and wires tonight and now the truck won't start. He had 2 of the wires swapped, tried to start the truck and it cranked for 2 seconds and then stopped. It really smelled like gas. We figured out that the wires were swapped, switched them to the right firing order and the truck still won't start. Again it cranks, but it won't start. The firing order is correct (we checked it 3 times.) Any ideas as to why the truck won't start?

Did he gap the plugs? When you purchase the plugs... your vehicle calls for a certain type of gap (By using a gap gauge, you can gap the plugs) if they are not gaped correctly...they won't fire. If this was done, or gets done and does not work, try testing the ignition coil... (From the distributer cap, there is a single wire that goes to a coil... this is what produces the electricity to the plugs)... if this does not work, then make sure the altenator is not bad... check to see if he forgot to put the rotor in the cap..sounds dumb but u never know..or if the cap is on tight enough..

Did you disconnet the battery and expect it to telepathically send voltage throughout the atmosphere and somehow get to you starter? Naw, Im bored but we do need an answer ma'am. Check all the stuff mentioned and let us know.
