Subject: Clutch assembly IP: Logged
Message: I have a 93 3.9L sport dakota. What's the component around the firewall of where the clutch linkage runs to from the pedel? It looks cylidrical in shape, is this a hyrolic type component? Anyways, a few days ago that part flew Apart on me...no more clutch. I need to know in general what this is and what I can eXpect to pay out on it. I have another vehicle to drive but I want the truck fixed ofcourse. Thanks for replies.

Message: I believe it is a hydrolic component. Mine went out shortly after I got my truck. I took it to a local dealer and after all labor and parts were done, I got reamed for about $1500. According to the dealer, they only sold it as a complete assembly, not the individual pieces. One of the Mechanics on this board would know if this is true or not.
As a side note I was new to the area and needed it fixed quickly. Turns out this particular dealer is known for being high priced. Live and learn....
