Message: No but you need to drill a couple holes to
bolt the mount on nothing major.
Install the thermo switch in the upper rad hose
by the Rad it just slips in under the hose and
you put the hose back on easy as pie and just wire
it up.
a couple hours work but worth it to get rid of
all that rotating mass of the old clutch fan.
I install them with 2 switches in a little radio
shack project box with a red diode and a resistor
so you can see when the fan activates makes it
real easy to adjust the thermo switch.
1/4 watt 1k resistor red jumbo LED
If I had my scanner hooked up I could show you
a diagram or drop me an email with your address
and I could send it to you with a parts list
and diagram.
1 switch to turn on manualy
1 switch master disconect so it don't run when
you shut your truck off.
All you need to do is run 3 wires in to the cab.
to hook it all up.

Message: This sounds like a good mod but how much more power does it add. Just wondering from someone thinking seriously about doing it.
Wouldn't want any other!

Message: They say 5 to 10 hp on the low end but I never
really tested that but could tell a differance
with the big clutch fan removed on mine.

Message: Here is another way to hook up the BM150 fan: Run the pos, black and power source as instructed. Then run a wire from the connector that hooks up your aux elec fan (now removed) into the dash to a toggle switch, then another wire from the switch back out to the fan where it hooks up to the a/c connector on the back of the fan. Then by flipping the switch you can disable the signal that turns the fan on when the a/c is running. I have found that as long as air is moving thru the radiator, there is no need to have your fan running, so you can turn off the fan by switching the signal off. Or in the winter when you happen to need to run the a/c you can turn the fan so it doesn't rob power.
