Umm, well today i decided to change my plugs and thermostat on my 00 3.9....got the plugs out fine, went to remove the thremostat housing..and one of the bolts fell down right next to the big ol Abyss of a hole in the intake mani!! Scared the sh!t otta me!
SO I go to grab it and DROP IT DOWN THE INTAKE MANIFOLD!!!!!
My heart just stops................
I run and grab a shop light and magnet tool and it fished right out......dunno if I was just lucky or if the water passages in the mani is cast so skinny that the bolt cant get to far...
Anyways I was scared sh!tless to say the least!

You shoulda just started the engine up...that bolt woulda just passed right through the mani and then out the exhaust....
....if it worked like that....
yeah I woulda been scared sh!tless too...you got lucky to say the least.

i changed my theormo to a 180 last weekend, and i thought i was gonna do the same damn thing lol
luckily it didnt , and i the 180 makes a nice differnece, that youll be able to feel

This must be a common thing, I changed my T-Stat about 1 1/2 years ago and did the same thing. Since then, I am very carefull any time I do anything around the engine. It makes you learn real fast.

Yea, and I even thought about that BEFORE i removed the bolts...BE CAREFULL!!
I love the new thermostat and autolite plugs!
I cant believe what a difference it made. The truck would be reall sluggish...I was thinkin the TPS...still maybe, ill look into it. Now its goes when i want it to....lol, its not a speed demon or anything...just seems to GO DAMNIT! lol I hated gettin passed by minivans when I didnt have the thing floored!
Hrmmm....what next? TB or PCM...

Go with a V8 or aftermarket Throttle Body, It is
one of the best upgrades you can do to a V6
I just posted pictures and instructions so you
will know if you also need a cable with a V8 body swap
