Subject: Transmission problems??? IP: Logged
Message: Hello all, a question for you fine folks...
I have a 2002 cc, and when i shift into drive or reverse from park my truck makes a funnny noise and kinda lurches into gear. I thought it was odd (it does it every time) so i took it to my dealer. They found no trouble codes and said it was fine.
Does this sound normal? Has anyone had the same problem?

Message: What kind of noise? Mine clicks really loudly a few times when I shift into gear most of the time. My dealer told me nothing was wrong but like you, I assume, I'm not so sure. I also have a 2002CC.

Of corse the dealer will say nothings wrong. Do you think they want to pay to fix it?

Message: First off, Thank you all for your replies...
My truck is an automatic, and the noise is sort of a mild grinding sound followed by the abrupt jerk into gear. WTF?

The dealership doesn't pay to fix anything, its warranty work, so Chrysler pays the dealership to fix it.
I think it actually is a normal noise, mine does it sometimes, but it doesn't really launch foward.
On a side note about the trans, I had to have my overdrive unit replaced because at medium to high speeds it would howl so loud, so if yours does that then there is deffinately something wrong with it.
