 Subject: rpm spikes when stopping

The rpms spike up by about 100 when I come close to a complete stop. Any ideas what would cause this? I just replaced the TPS sensor bc the rpms were spiking when I set the cruise at 70 mph. The 70mph rpm spike has stopped but the spike when I stop is still around. The tranny fluid has also just been flushed.
99 V6 auto 4x4 with about 40k
Any help would be appreciated

Maybe the tranny is downshifting.
