Message: Are you flat towing the New Yorker? Or using a trailer?
The load rating on the bumper is 2000 pounds. That New Yorker could be twice that. But, if your just flat towing the NY w/ a tow strap, your bumper will do that for the short term you need.
Example: I had a 2600 pound car quit on me 2 hours from home. I had my bud w/ a 1991 non-mag V6 'Kota get a trailer (1000 pounds), and come get me - hooked to his bumper hitch.
We took it easy, and had zero issues. I would not want to do that across country, but short term could work out for you.
