ok now that i have your attention can any one with first hand knolage of dakota rear ends give me a hand are all dakota axles the same width and if they are would a wrecked r/t axel fit on a 90 dak i have a slightly large problem (tourque to much for tooth pattern blew off a few teeth)im askin because my freind just wraped his 99 r/t around a honda and the insurance toateld it so hes trying to sell it to me what would the gear ratio be in a bone stock r/t? all i know is it will withstand 507.2ftlbs of touruqe and willl get up and go behind his truckany help on this subject will be apreciated

You can find the ratio listed either on the tag
in the glove box or under the hood.
I would say 3.55 or 3.91 and both should be
8.25 with 10 bolts in the cover's

Just mesure the distance of the spring pads and
between the brake back plates to see if its the
same.

I am not sure about the gen 1 and 3 being the same
you need to mesure.

I just bought a 1990 Dak 4X4 myself for my next
buildup. perfict body no rust over 200,000 miles
on the truck runs good low oil presure and burns
a little oil.

I love these Dak 3.9's I am going to have a
collection of them, next I am looking for a 2000
4X4 I already have my 95 all done and its nice.

Doubt you have a 9 1/4 (the rear thats in the R/T) in your 90, Ive never seen anything but 7 and 8 1/4's in anything before 91's when they put the v8 in em.
