Subject: Oil Pressure IP: Logged
Message: I have a 02 Sxt 4x4 auto and the oil pressure guage is near the high mark. Since there is no red warning mark or anything i was wondering if this is normal. Also there is no redline on the tach so what is my redline?

Message: jeremy,
I recently took my 2001 Dak (5spd 3.9)to the dealer about my oil pressure gauge running very erratic, runs at the high mark while cruising at around 1500 rpm and dropped to the low mark at idle. The dealer check to make sure my screen was clean on the oil pump. The dealer manually checked the pressure to ensure it was running correctly and it was. They eventually changed the oil sending unit just to change it. I has not moved down quite as low as it did before. But still runs near the high mark. I was tolded that it was normal for the gauges to move back and forth. I normally use 10-40W partial synthetic.
And thank you, you have answered a question for me regarding wheter the newer Daks O/Press runs the same way. I hope this helps you out.

Message: I added a after market gauge on my 99 and what it reads compared to the factory stock is completely diffrent. The factory will read about 60 psi and the aftermarket reads about 40 psi at highway speeds
