HEy
I have a 93 Dakota 3.9L RC LB. I want to put dual exhaust on it but I dont know which one will sound the best for this V6... I need like a whole new system, including the cat. All the exhaust pipes and hangers right now are rusted and like falling off. I'm not to worried about loss of performance, but I'm more worried about sound... So, what system would you sugest I get for my Dakota?

what kind of sound do you want? dual pipes is a lot of air for a 3.9 to push.

i just got a split dual exhaust out the back of my 1997 and it is awesome. It gives me a lot more power and sounds great. IT is gibson performance and i got it all for 300 bucks @ carparts.com.

Boy Ill tell all I hear is this I have a V6 but I dont want it to sound like a V6 Give me a break if u dont want it to sound like a V6 then u should have buy a V8 It all I hear what muffler should I get but i dont want it to sound like a V6 GAWWWWWWWWWWD Get a flowmaster 40 50 series I have a 50 series on 93

sorry bud, didnt have a choice when it came to getting a 6 or an 8... im 16 and when my grandpa got to old to drive a stick, he gave me his truck.. i didnt have a car and this truck only has 40,000 miles (on a 93) so im not complaining at all about it being a 6.. im just trying to make what i have better.. is that a problem?

right on bro, i'm driving my g'pa's 93 v6 too. a single dynomax has a bad ass sound and i've heard that going w/ a single improves performance a lot more than a dual due to loss of torque. i'd go w/ a catco hi-flow as well if i were you. flowmaster 50 also has a good sound to it.

Has anybody tried the gibson 788500s muffler?It has 24" case was wondering how it sounds and if it bolt right up? Would that be offsets or centers or a combo of both? thanks for the info.Sorry 3.9 02 Quadcab slt

go to a muffler shop have them install you a new cat ansd ask if they will put the muffler of your choice (40series single in single out my prefrence) with some dups or side exits in front of the rear tire you will be heard. or get them to install the new cat must have dne at shop will be illigle if not, then if you can weld run strait pipes no mufflers. will get you some attention even when you dont want it

I have a 98 3.9L with 40 series flowmaster and no cat you can hear me coming for a whiles away just make sure you get the whole pipe done not cut and have the muffler welded on do it fom the manifolds back so it won be as noisy inside the car

Will the Cuda Style Exhaust fit on a lowered dakota? it doesnt look like there is much room and i dropped it 4 inches in the back.
