 Subject: i got beat by a ranger

I drive a 95 3.9 with a auto and 3.55. the other night i race my buddies truck which is a 92 ranger with the 2.3 4-banger with intake mods no cat a turbo muffler and 4.10's. he got me off the line by wasy too much for a truck with almost half the engine as mine. All i have done is to put in a dropin K&N filter becuae i have the old style air intake with the round air hat. what can i do that will efectivly put that ford man in his place?
