Subject: FUEL PUMP IP: Logged
Message: I have a 1994 V6 Dakota. What are the signs of a fuel pump starting to go bad? Also, what exactly does a crank sensor do?

Message: when your fuel pump quits you are DRT (Dead Right There)Usually without much warning.
The crank sensor detects the square holes cut in the flex plate when it spins around and tells the Coil when to send a spark.

Message: My truck was sputtering and took like 30 seconds of cranking for it to start. I found out it was the fuel pump filter/regulator was clogged up. it was a pain to do, because you have to drop the tank. good luck.
