Subject: 4 wheel drive linkage
IP: Logged

Message:
I re-installing my 4 wheel drive shifter/linkage (post clutch job), I am having difficulty adjusting the linage correctly (it does not seem to shift very easily). Is there a correct way to adjust the linkage, I assume 4High is rotated to the back of the truck and 4Low is rotated to the front of the truck. My Haynes manual does not a diagram of the transmission or linkage.

Thanks

It usually takes 2 people to perform the job, There is an adjustment screw where the rod connects to the shifter, us a small crescent or 1/2" wrench to put your transfer case into gear, (Jiggle it a lil to make sure it centered on the gear) have the other person line up your shifter in the right position and tighten the screw. Nuttin 2 it.
