Subject: Rough Idle at Start Up IP: Logged
Message: Hello all, I haven't posted here in a while. You guys helped me do all my mods last summer, and haven't had any major problems with truck tell lately.
When I first start the truck up in the morning, it will idle rough for about 20-30 sec, then pick up idle, and idle smoothly.
In afternoon after work, it does it some, but not as long and as bad.
I have cleaned, and swapped IAC, taken whole TB off, cleaned also.
Plugs changed this past winter.
Cap N Rotor changed early this year (full brass).
Wires changed last fall.
Mods on truck.....
48mm Tb with removed horns
Dynomax 17748
S Hook tb hold down.
Asp Crank Pully
Modified Air intake
Reloacted IAC to intake
180 T-stat
Any Ideas what I'm overlooking please??

Message: MINE DOES IT TO, BUT I THINK I FIXED IT YESTERDAY. I FOUND I HAD AN INJECTOR O-RING LEAKING AND ALSO AN OXYGEN SENSOR CODE. I REPLACED BOTH AND IT RUNS WAY BETTER AND STARTS UP SMOOTH. HOPE THIS HELPS

Message: something might be dripping into the cylinder when it's not running. could be oil or fuel. then you start it and it lopes for a second until it cleans out, then your ok.

Message: I guess its time to check my injectors. The beast has about 112k on it.
Ignition sounds good to you? I dont have any knocks or ticks, so I'm guessing everything is fine internal. Gotta be a external sensor/part.

Message: If it is a bad injector I may have an extra one from my '97 3.9L Dakota. The o-ring is a little chewed up (that is why I replaced it) and at the time I couldn't find a replacement o-ring. I think I can get a new o-ring put on it. If you are interested I'll give you a deal on it. New injectors run around $90 if I remember correctly.

Message: I remember when I was here last year, people putting in mustang 19lbs, so I'm searching for them. I'm also going to do a blead down test first.

Message: Dale - If everything comes unwrapped then you can e-mail me at bholsinger@twmi.rr.com and I'll go through my basement to find the old injector.

Message: Thanks, will keep that in mind.
Will it still "tick/vibrate" if its bad?? I felt all of them while its running, and all vibrate.
I think I'm going to pull the fpg out of the toolchest and see if it bleads down over night.

Message: that amount of pressure drop in two hours is fine. when there is a problem, you will see the needle drop lets say from 45 to 22 within one or two minutes. then you know you have either a leaky injector, regulator, line, filter or check valve in the pump. if you want to visually check the ijectors then, unbolt the fuel rail with the injectors in it and put a piece of paper under each nozzle, then pressurize the system and look for drips.

Message: Ok, pulled the rail and looked, nozzles stayed dry. The middle on the pass side was a little wet/damp on the outside, so I got some o-rings to replace them.
I doubt thats my problem. What would be next on my list?
