 Subject: smeared dash glass

hey the other day i was washin my dash screen off and the cleaner smeared the glass or clear plastic whatever that is. (This is the plastic/glass that you look through to look at ur odometer). I was wonderin if anybody knew of a way or special cleaner that would take those smear blotches off there? An input on this would be greatly appreciated. thanx :)

If they're small scraches, use a very fine rubbing compound and a damp clean rag, don't be too aggressive with the rubbing. If just smudges, a little Windex should do.

if you use rubbing compound make sure it is the real fine grit and you may still want to mix it with water so it will act like a jewler's polish.
you can also use non-gel toothpaste to clean and polish plastics.
good luck it takes alot of elbow grease with a soft touch.

try a little wd40 on a rag if your cleaner took the oils out of the plastic that will fix it.

For plastic and plexiglass there is a product called Safe-Cut made by The Wax Shop.This stuff is really good.

Thanx a bunch for all you guys who replied. I tried Windex already and it didnt seem to clear it up any. I may have to try that Safe-Cut cleaner made by the Wax Shop Eggman. Hey Eggman can u get that at any local store(such as walmart, kmart etc..)?

looks like you already found something to solve your problem but just for others to know, you shouldnt use any kind of abrasive cleaner on clear plastic. Just clean it with hand soap and water.
