Subject: Engine w/ Drivetrain IP: Logged
Message: Has anyone had there the engine bored out or port matched? I read an article in Hot Rod Magazine about the 318 a couple of mnths ago. They squeezed 400hp out of the block. I have a 3.9 and it being what it is I want more power. I have done all the entry level mods +tb, power pulley, electric fan, MSD 6a, Flowmaster, Intake all the works. I was going to get the RR but I wanted to know what the cam was going add? Will I lose gas mileage. Should I get everything port matched too? What kinda result should the 1.6 RR's and the cam add? Does anyone offer a lightweight flywheel and performance clutch? How about a better or lighter driveshaft. Could I just do the RR's and then run a turbo on it. I would love to do the turbo but will need some help from INTENSE if he would return my email? How much is the RR's anyway and how much is the supercharger since I wont get the help? Just kiddin'

Message: The 1.7 RR's will add a solid 15 to 18 HP across
the rpm range starting at about 1800 an excellent
mod for the money.
They add around 4 degree's duration to the stock
250 264
They will also help your gas mileage and low end torque
A lot of guys with the stick go to the centerforce
clutch after they blow there stocker. A stronger unit.
You can find the 1.7's at any of these places.
They are easyer and quicker to install than a
cam change but you need to bend you baffles in
your valve covers to clear the studs. Easy to do.

Message: I now have an extra set of heads and a block after I threw 3 rods out the Oil pan. I'm wanting to have the heads shaved and ported. By shaving the heads it SHOULD increase the Lift but I'm worried about the duration and the Cam Degree of the Stock cam.
The flywheel of an Automatic is welded around the Torque converter, Only way to lighten that would be to get a Lighter converter.
1 Step @ a time, I gotta get rid of this freakin "Check Engine" Fuel Injector problem before I start attempting to Modify an Engine.
Anybody know the Lift, Duration and Degree of a stock Camshaft for the 3.9? And where did you get this Info?
Thx,
Shank

Unplug them all 1 at a time while running untill
you find the one that is not doing its job.
you can buy a set of 6 from Bruce at

Message: No it's the Sunburn now, gave the truck a break & went to the Lake. Tried to remember how to waterski but it's took several cans of "Liquid Courage" which dulled the pain of the sun beating us. We used sunblock several times but sumptin 'bout hittin the water @ 30MPH tends to wash it off. Ouch my legs are stuck to the vinyl 'puter chair!

Message: The crower 1.7's come in 2 differant kits.
The regular kit with self alining rockers and
studs are good to 5500rpm about $335 $350 shiped.
The Rev Kit comes with guides and stronger push
rods not sure on the push rods most just go with
the regular kit. around $500 t0 $600
The rev kit is for higher rpm that most stockers
don't really need unless you are building the
crapola out of your engine
