Message: i was driving home tonight and i had just put my truck in cruise control and hit the accel button a little when all the sudden i lost all my oil pressure and the truck died. I had my friend give me a lift and im going to have the truck towed in the morning. its only got 43,000 pampered miles on it and when i checked the oil was a little low but nothing to be to concerned with and it never ever leaks. I didnt even really hear any strange noises when it happened, just maybe like a very faint pop that i thought was somethbing to do with the cruise control. Whats wrong with my truck? thanks for your help.

Message: you lost oil pressure because the truck died, depending on the year of truck most likly a cam and/or crank sensor, also check your relays

Message: well still... your oil pressure light is on because the rpms dropped and your motor died. The oil pressure light should be on anytime that your truck is in the "on" position and not started. I would check the battery first.

Message: thanks for your help, the sole cause was the auto shutdown fuse.right now we think it just went from age, but the auto shutdown fuse is also on the alternator circuit so we tried to get the alternator to short and it didnt, it worked fine so it was probably just the fuse was old. again thanks for the suggestions
