Subject: 3.9 exhaust IP: Logged
Message: I had a free flow exhaust installed on my 92 3.9 dakota and now it runs real rich " black smoke" and the gas milage went to the basement,anyone know why and what to do to correct this?

Message: Yeah, I'm sorry I did'nt make that clear.. But the 02 Sensor is what I was reffering to.. That uses the exhaust mixture to tell the computer what teh Air/Fuel Ratio should be.
O2, Not everybody knows this stuff, you shouldnt call anybody dumb. Hell, it wasn't long ago that I didn't know either, I just started to teach myself, and now I'm in training to be a mechanic.

O2 you are right I am the dummy :-)) but asking questions is the only way I know to over-come this condition. thanks guys.

Hope that solves your problem though, It seems to me thats what it is, Either its in wrong, or it's faulty and needs replaced.
