I had a free flow exhaust installed on my 92 3.9 dakota and now it runs real rich " black smoke" and the gas milage went to the basement,anyone know why and what to do to correct this?

Yeah, I'm sorry I did'nt make that clear.. But the 02 Sensor is what I was reffering to.. That uses the exhaust mixture to tell the computer what teh Air/Fuel Ratio should be.

O2, Not everybody knows this stuff, you shouldnt call anybody dumb. Hell, it wasn't long ago that I didn't know either, I just started to teach myself, and now I'm in training to be a mechanic.

Thanks Kracker, I will find out if the sensor is back in as it should be.
O2 you are right I am the dummy :-)) but asking questions is the only way I know to over-come this condition. thanks guys.

Yeah, no problem Lloyd, if you got anymore questions, just ask, thats what were all here for.

Hope that solves your problem though, It seems to me thats what it is, Either its in wrong, or it's faulty and needs replaced.
