Subject: My Mopar needs more power IP: Logged
Message: I have a 2003 Dodge Dakota SXT, 3.9L , 5 speed manual trans. I recently towed a 3000 lbs trailer acrosss country with no problem. Now I want to increase its overall performance. I orded a drop in KNN filter. Next step is a flowmaster. My question now is that I want to change the computer chip but it seems like the Jet chip is getting some bad reviews. What would be a good chip to get then. Also are the any out there that could reset the top speed limiter? I can get up to 100mph in 5th gear at only 3000 rpm now but know I can get alot more out of it.
Any advice would be great,
Scott

Message: Forget that drop in filter....get yourself a cold air intake or at least a ram air! Some 1.6 Roller rockers help out alot too (can add a cam), you could get the 1.7 RR, but with no cam, Unless you get a custom cam

Message: Get a cold air intake system
Add a new throttle body with the 1.7 rockers and
you will notice a lot of improvement than do the
exhaust.
I run the jet 2 and it does help the 3.9 just be
sure you get the right chip not something off
ebay that someone says will work they are vehicle
specific chips.
