Message: I have a 94 sport 4x4 with a 5 speed in it. I know dodge isn't known for their transmissions. sigh. well, it's bout to blow, and I'm gonna drive it till it dies, and it's bout to die. Can I hook up a beefier transmission to my v6, so when my engine blows, which with the way I offroad with it it will, can I just put a beefier tans in before I switch to a 318 or 360 later? preciate it

Message: Good luck man, Whenever you attempt to change engines you are opening a GIANT Can O' Worms! New harnesses, New computer modules, New mount brackets and bunches of $$$ If you can't do most of the work yourself. Even deviating 2 yrs on the replacement engine is a nightmare, TRUST ME! I'm in the middle of trying to make a '96 3.9L fit in my '93 3.9L Dakota 4x4. Each engine has a diff computer system, different modules and different tranny controls, It's not as easy as it sounds. If you want a list and got 30 minutes to decifer them I will explain it later. Good Luck with your tranny, It is a headache and a heartache in itself.
