 Subject: What TB is better?

For my 02 3.9L Dakota with Airaid Intake and exhaust. Is a stock v8 tb better than a v6 tb that has the horns shaved off? I need to know because, i am going to be putting on JBA headers so I want to get the best performance gains.
Also, what is SureGrip? Is it limited slip differential?

Hey K-Dak,
I don't know if a V6 TB with the air horn shaved off is better than a stock V8 TB. Anyway if you could shave the air horn off a V6 TB, you could do the same with the V8 TB. If you want the best performance check out the F&B 48mm or Fastman's TB. If money is no object then supercharge it or laughing gas. I'm not making fun of you but best performance gains can mean alot of things. I thought the best gains I got was the TB improvement. All the rest did a little. I read that RR 1.7 would wake up a 3.9L as well. I didn't want to supercharge just some mild performance mods and nice rumble from the exhaust.
I'm sorry I really couldn't help you with the first question. I do believe SureGrip is limit slip. Good luck.

I shaved the air horns off my TB on my 02 and it really made a different. mileage is a little lower but it really goes. havent put a V8 Tb on but just cuting off air horn and widing the bore to stock size really works
