Message: Are you the original owner? somebody may have put a stopleak type substance in the engine. cracked head at the exhaust port causing exhaust gases to blow into your antifreeze, blown head gasket, partially plugged water jacket ports. My bro-in-law had similar problem on 318 V-8, radiator was completely plugged, no amount of flush could break through it, $220 for new radiator, OUCH!
We went thru what you explained, new water pump, thermostat, pulled heads & had tested, replaced head gaskets...... all for a plugged radiator core! Good luck

Message: Two things to check
1) plugged rad. like prev. mentioned
2) clutch fan. If the thermo sensor is not working correctly the fan will barely spin.
this will cause overheating. Also restricted flow throught the rad. Will cause the rad to get to hot as well as not being able to have the thermo sensor in the fan read the temp properly.
Don't get to worried about engine problems just yet until you check the easy stuff.
Good luck

Message: First thing that comes to mind is that the T-stat is in backwards or it's stuck closed. Or possibly the wrong waterpump was installed. If memory serves me there are different waterpumps for different years. Those with the serpentine belt are reverse rotation from the earlier V-belt setups. Anyone can correct me if I'm wrong.
