Subject: ignitionwires messed up my truck

i put these performance ignition wires from discount autoparts on my truck and it will start but it idles at 500 rpms and it wont rev much higher. it stalls if you put it into gear but if you leave it in neutral it will just putt(sounds very bad shakes horribly). i put every stock wire back on except the wire that goes to the coil because i tore it when replacing it with the performance wire and it still does the same thing. im guessign it is the coil wire but im not sure. please help im very pissed at myself. im going to get some liquer now. hahaha j/k

Sounds like they you did not put them on in the correct order. Looking at the motor from the front of the truck, the cylinders are numbered like this

rear
6 5
4 3
2 1
Front

The firing order on the v6 is 1 6 5 4 3 2. On your distibutor cap, find the post labeled with the number 1. Connect that to the number 1 spark plug. Then work around the distributor cap clockwise in the firing order. do number 1 then 6 then 5 then 4 and so on. Double check it once your done. Its easy to get them switched around if you are not carefull.

yea i did wire it wront got the coil mixed up with 6. my friend who works for Correct craft who works on engines came over and we figured it out. it starts great and idles at a higher rpm. thanks for the help
