I have a 99 dakota 3.9L and my oil is very runny.It doesnt smell like gas or anything it just runs right off the dipstickAnd its not leaking.Its in the shop right now for the rack.I wont be geting it back till next week sometime.So i would really like to know something before i say anything to the dealership.Does anyone know what might be my problem?Thanks

It hasnt needed any oil.I take it to the shop to have the oil changed every 3000 miles.Any ideas?

Um hello! the oil is not suppose to stick to your dipstick you fool. It is oil not glue.

What weight oil did they put in it last time? A 5w- or a 0w is going to be runny on a hot engine.

I dont know.I checked it when it was hot and when it was cold and both times were the same.

If it's runny on a cold engine, I would get it changed, doesn't sound right to me.And make sure to ask for a good 10w-30 oil. Chevron Supreme and Castrol GTX turn in some good numbers.
