I have a '93 Dak that it is time to replace the shocks on. I went looking and wanted to get the Edelbrock IAS shocks. Unfortunately "we do not offer any shocks for the older model Dakota's."

Personally I feel that is a bit of BS. I am looking some good shocks (smooth ride, yet good performance too) any thoughts?

Part numbers or extension/compression lengths are helpful. Thanks.

I installed Pro Comps ES9000 a few weeks ago. Great shock but it does lean towards the stiff side. Reasonable priced....Would buyPro Comps again but would try the ES3000 to compare them.
Check them out @:

Sigma,
How do the ES3000 and ES9000 compair in drivabliity to the stock shocks.

1flamed92dak,
Same question for the Bilstein shocks.

I am looking for the best of both possible worlds. The dak I am putting these in is my daily driver and my wife get motion sick. In other words, unless I can find a good combination of smooth ride and performace, I might have to go with stock shocks. The Edelbrock IAS shocks seemed like a good combination.

Too me there is no comparsion from the stock shocks to the Bilsteins anyone in here that runs them will testify to that one they might be expensive but worth every penny so far 25000 miles on mine and it rides like a caddy and handles like a ferrari in the curves but a lot of it has to do with my rear sway bar from hellwig I swear on these shocks and if you dont love them Ill buy from ya how is that.

The old shocks were the originals w/145K on them. It would rock & roll on slightly imperfect roads. The ES9000 improved the handling of the truck & it is a solid stable shock on rough roads that under construction...Plenty of road work around, been in line with other trucks & it takes the rough better than others. I've hit deep trenches & the front & rear remain stable w/out bottoming out while the other trucks are bobing along.

The ES3000, I haven't used them & they have not been mentioned on this board. Would try them if I was looking for a street shock. Too bad you can't try parts & compare them before you buy..

BTW...I haul wood & heavy equipment frome time to time, that is why the ES9000 are on.
