hey guys...
gotta ? for ya.... just the other day i was coming home from the city and saw a freind of mine ... well long story short.. we went fast... but i didnt go fast enough... will these dak's go over a hundred and if so what all do i gotta do....thanx

hummm? my 98 dak rc auto went 110 bone stock. now it just does it faster. Did it shift into fourth or stay in third? mine hits the red line at about 95 mph in third and then shifts to forth.

They'll do 100. Easily. I 'only' have the 3.9 as well, and routinely do 100 when I have to pass slow movers on the interstate, and it's BARELY breaking a sweat doing that....feels like it's doing maybe 75 to 80. Side note....I put the word 'only' in quotes, because I have to admit that while people keep digging dirt on the Dakota V6 engine, it's worth mentioning that people forget that not couting the 2.4 4-banger, the V6 for the Dakota is the smallest engine you can get for it, and to get a comparable engine for the competitor's trucks, you have to get their best model. (F'rinstance, the 4.3 V6 for the Chevy, or the supercharged V6 for the Nissan, etc.)

I also have a 2000 Dak 2WD, V6, Auto. It's stock and I've had it up to 107 before I had to back out of it.

My 2000 rc v6 with 3.92 in the back got up to 120MPH then I ran out of room to go any faster.

Actually, I never meant to say 2.4. I'm a computer technician, and what happened to me is technically termed 'fat-fingering.' I was typing so fast and said "Screw it, I don't need to proofread." At least I didn't say something dumb like "5.9L 4-banger.' *LOL*

5.9 liter 4 banger would be a d@mn big 4 banger!!
I think I had the biggest, a 2.6 liter that held six (6) quarts of oil!!!!
