Subject: Why a v8 swap? IP: Logged
Message: im pretty new to this site and i come on here just to get some interesting idea for my new dakota that i jus purchased which is an 89 dakota w/ 3.9L. all i seem to read about is you guys doin v8 swaps in the Gen. 1 dakotas. has anybody ever thought of rebuilding and doing up the v6 at all? i mean come on, i can think of a few idea off the top of my head that will give lots more horsepower. i talked w/ my engine builder that i use and he seems to think that w/ a little work and money i can get 225-250 horse out of that v6 engine if its done right. these are jus my thoughts. id like to hear some feed back from others on this, thanx.

Message: V8's are easier to find performance parts for.
V8's are always going to outdo V6's with the same perf. parts.
and when most people think of a truck for power, they think about those 2 extra cylinders.
