Message: i got a glass pack today and it made my v6 sound bad ass. i noticed it was a little slow off the line but it was much fatser in the higher rpms. i like the sound and was impressed with the performance increase.i would recommend it for any dakota.
just wanted to tell anyone who is interested.

Message: did it make your truck sound kinda raspy? sorta like a bee? cause i was thinking of that cause i like my sound but it is just a dual muffler and it really does not have that deep tone that i am looking for. and also what size is it and that junk.

Message: I had a glasspack for a few days. Sounded great at idle and cruising, but rev that thing up or accelerate and it was nearing the rice factor.

Message: yeah that is the problem that i am experiencing with just my dual muffler system. so you dont think that it would be a good idea for the sound i am trying to achieve? i think i might end up cutting the cat off again and then replacing the whole system back with maybe a magnaflow or gibson cause i believe they are better according to some of the research i have done. and listening on the puter i like the sound that gibson puts out.

Message: Be careful with a Magnaflow, I have no personal experience with them, but have heard they are a bit raspy as well. Dynomax seems to be a good fir as well as the gibsons. I finally was able to hear a gibson on a V6 about a week ago...sounded close to my Dynomax Super Turbo but was a little bit louder...no ricey tones at all, sounded really good in my opinion. If I was ever going to switch from my Dynomax setup, I would seriously consider the Gibson system.

Message: thanks alot Ernie i have not got to hear one on a v6 but i would imagine from hearing it on the 4.7 and 5.9 that it would sound pretty good and loud. i am trying to get as far away from that raspy crap as possible. that is another reason i got a dodge so it sounds american not sh*$ty like jap crap.

Message: I agree. The dodge 3.9 v6 does sound better than most sixers due to the oversized valves that dodge uses in its Magnum engines. But it is still a v6, and with the wrong muffler, can get ricey in the high rpms.

Message: what i have on there right now is a superflow i believe and i was in a hurry when i got it installed. instead of waiting to get the gibson that i had already had picked out i went with the cheap one cause i had no noise and was tired of not being able to hear my truck. i spent on that muffler and tailpipes for what i could have gotten the muffler for if i was not so impatient. now i have to deal with the rice sound until i can get it taken care of. totally my fault though.

Message: it sounds great in low rpms but your right about the higher rpms cuz it will buzz a little. kelly r u asking the size of the muffler? if so it is pretty small it is tube like and splits out the back. my friend has a glass pack on his 5.9 and it sounds like a monster, ive drove it and up at 5000 rpms that bitch roars. ive noticed alot of increase in power too. the guy who put it on said id gain more hp with the glass pack than the flowmaster he had so id rather have the raspy noise and more power.

Message: didnt really think it was going to end up getting this long huh? well ive been driving mine for about 6 or 7 months now and im not sure if it just the system or just my hearing. cause mine has not even started to make a change that i have noticed. a friend told me that it sounds like a bumble bee. but what does he know, he tried to turn a 01 crustang into a soy sauce drinking rice burner. check it out its pretty funny when i look at it on the net and see what people have said about it, then i go to his house and i see it sitting in the drive.

what do yall think of this tragic deformality.

Everytime i show someone my exhaust they are impressed with the sound. not one person has said it sounds like a rice burner, multiple people at my school and work have said its the best 6 cylinder they have heard.
