Message: I was thinking... I hear about u running in mid 14's and i think that's awesome and everything... but you have a supercharger and nos helping you out. Don't you think it should be running a HELL of a lot faster!?! If your gonna spend all that money on that stuff and only getting mid 14's out of it, don't you think you should've spent money on building it up first and then the external stuff? It just seems to make more sense to me. I'm not trying to pour water on your fire or anything just I would like to see you doing all this and running like at least 12's. Just my 2 cents...

Message: Not really. If you look at the weight of the vehicle and the displacement trying to move it, it's actually doing pretty good.
Factory for the V6 SLT/CC (2WD) is right about 17.0-17.4 seconds in the 1/4 mile. This is with about 135-140RWHP pushing about 4100 lbs...again, factory. I dyno tested the truck last week and she's putting down 258-260RWHP with a weight of 4150lbs (with me in it).
This is with the stock heads, cam, (very mildly modified intake manifold), and stock PCM. I've got the new cam and heads ready but need to finish up the new short block. With those completed, we're looking at approximately 13.5-13.8's. You'll need some serious power adders (or weight reduction) to get the V6 into the 12's. (Nick Kramer did it...but with about 18# of boost with a turbo and cam/head work to match. He ran a 11.76 @ 123mph in a '98 V6.)

Message: Forgot to include: I'm only running a 40HP shot to "supercool" the intake charge. I'll probably turn it up to about 60HP with the new motor but will be switching that over to a wet-shot instead of the dry-shot i'm running right now. That'll take some tuning as the FMU already richens up the mixture under boost and the fuel jet needs to be leaned out on the nitrous. If I do run with the 60HP shot, i'm looking at low 13's (13.2-13.5). Remember, those are estimates and I won't know for sure until the engine is done and has made a few runs (after break-in) at the track.
No offese taken at all...i've been asked that a few times. :)

Message: Yes, you can...but the standard Powerdyne won't handle it. If you plan on running 15+# boost, get yourself a Vortech T-Trim...they can handle up to 24# boost.
You can find out what Nick did to his V6 on the DragTruck website: http://www.dragtruk.com

Message: Blower or Turbo, proper cam, proper head "massaging", forged pistons, much better rods, intercooler (a little nitrous wouldn't hurt but not required).

Message: A supercharger forces additional air and fuel into the engine. This occurs when the engine is under full throttle or under load, not at normal cruise or most normal driving. A large displacement engine makes more power than a small displacement engine because it can convert larger amounts of fuel and air into energy. A supercharger allows a smaller engine to do the same thing but only when extra power is actually needed.

| RE: Bernd... IP: Logged
Message: DakKid: The term "Blower" is a slang term for Supercharger. Centrifugal or Screw-type...they both do the same thing and are both "Real Blowers". Centrifugal is easier on the engine as it build boost gradually (like a turbo) and keeps building boost even at higher rpm's. The screw-type blowers make gobs of boost right out of the hole but lack on top-end. BTW: Those "Old School Things" were originally used on Diesels...modified for gasoline engines.
Mesa: Limited Slip, Sure-Grip, Trac-Lock, Posi, they're the same thing...different terminology used by different manufacturers.

Message: Both tires engage instead of just one (easy explanation). Check your glove-box or dealer sticker...if it says "Sure-Grip" or "Limited Slip" on it, you've got it.

What is the highest shot you think a stock 3.9 would take before a Three Mile Isle type melt down? on a fairly regular basis not a one time shot.
