Message: To change your fuel filter, you go down to the parts store and buy a 250 dollar fuel pump. Take it home drop the tank and replace the pump. You have to do this cause in their infinate wisdom, dodge decided to combine the pump with filter.

Message: Actually, you dont need a fuel pump.
You have 2 filters, ones a strainer and ones a filter, they are very expensive.
You do have to drop the tank or pull the bed, empty the tank as best you can before you drop the tank.
Any service manual will outline the whole procedure.

Message: I have a 92 3.9 auto and changed the fuel filter for about 10 bucks and 15minutes. It is under the driver's door and requires a screwdriver and a little force.
