Message: I have a K&N air hat. They are hi, but seems better. Probably the best route is an FIPK for the money and performance agains. Got mine from Truckperformance.com .

Message: Thanks a lot Deep Purple. Just a couple of questions. Which airhat is it on the site, because I checked it out and they all say they are for carburetor engines. Also, will this airhat fit my new throttle body with no modification, I dont like having to jimmy rig stuff to fit my engine. Thanks again.

Message: Go to Truckperformance.com. Search by brand "K&N". Under Air Management, air intake plentum, custom plenum. Fits stock and F&B throttle bodies. Use 4"to 3" rubber pipe adaptor from Lowes to mate it to stock air tube. No breather pipe, so I used push-in valve cover breather. Looks like stock.

Message: I meant half a$$ something not have a$$...typo, but the reason i need this air hat is because i just installed a 48mm f and b tb and my stock airhat wont fit. I modded it and it still wont seal on the tb gasket. I just need a new airhat that was made to fit my tb. Thanx

Message: Deep Purple what do you mean by "no breather pipe" do you have a picture. Sorry I guess im a visual learner. I know what a breather is but where does this come into play with the k and n airhat. thanks again man

| RE: Airhat IP: Logged
Message: You have a vent hose that goes from the stock air hat down the the valve cover. The K&N has no pipe in it for the hose. So I pulled the hose and the plastic 90 off and added a push-in valve cover breather. The hose to the air hat supplied clean air to the motor for the pcv valve. The push-in breather has a filter in it, so you still get clean, filtered air for the pcv valve.

Message: I emailed k and n asking about the custom air intake plenum and they replied telling me they dont carry one for my truck. Just for carb engines only. I really like the look of the k and n airhat and I would like to get one. Can you just post me the link of the address where you bought your airhat from Deep Purple? It seems pretty unbelievable that K and N makes these for carb engines and not fuel injected. -Justin

It says that it is for Carb engines only...

Message: well our throttle bodies share the same 5 1/8" circle that a carb has and the center hold down bolt is in the same place... should work.

Message: Oh ok see I thought that might be the case but I asked the Truckperformance guy and he seemed to not really know. Thanks Intense. I need one as soon as possible because Im scared to get anything in my intake manifold. Let me know if you can get a pic of that turbonetics airhat. If not Ill just spring for the k and n airhat, if Deep Purple is positive it will fit. I just gotta make sure of the one I buy...I cant waste any more money. Thanks again everyone, sorry for all the questions, Im just tryin to make sure...

Message: The air hat fits the throttle bodys as IntenseDak39 said. That is what I use on my F&B throttle body. A lot of vendors have parts that were made for one thing, but can be used someplace else. The one that IntenseDak39 has may be what your looking for, if the K&N is too hi. Good luck.

Message: Hey Intense I have one last question about your Turbonetics Airhat. I know the neck flange is 5 1/8 but what is the measurements for the intake flange? Is it 3 inches or 4 or what? Im trying to see if I can use my stock intake tube or if I would have to get a silcone hose reducer. Thanks again man....
